| Southwest Showdown @ P1 Kart Circuit Tucson, Arizona, April 26th 2008 - The first event of the Arizona Drift Machine Amateur Series went down with a lot of excitement on a typical clear sky Tucson afternoon. A high speed e-brake entry to a series of technical turns, proved a mighty challenge to beginners and pros alike. Forrest Wang took first place beating Joe Haven in the final with Dayton Beck wrapping up third place in the advanced group. In the beginner group Sean Fahey walked away with first place honors as Joel Mondragon and John Lawson wrapped up second and third place respectively. Congratulations to those who placed and a big thanks to P1 Kart Circuit for contributing one of the best facilities in Arizona to the local drift scene. Click HERE to view the photos. |

Formula D @ Streets of Long Beach, California, April 11th 2008. - The finals looked poised for a 350z matchup between Chris Forsberg and Tanner Foust until Samuel Hubinette had his hand in foiling the battle of the Z's by defeating Foust in the semi-finals. Forsberg slayed his oponnents one by one until the final showdown against Hubinette which he won narrowly after some very close runs. Drift Assault Nopi Qualifier @ P1 Kart Circuit, March 22nd, 2008 - Turn Style Drift hosted the first drift event ever at the scale replica of Suzuka, otherwise known as P1 Kart Circuit in Tucson, Arizona. Five drivers were awarded their licenses to compete nationally in the Nopi Drift Series. Congratulations to Jeff Jones, Jordan Yeh, Cyrus Martinez, Jeremy Vanleeuwe, and Matt Vigil. Club Racing Arizona @ Phoenix International Raceway, January 6th, 2008 - There's always plenty to see at the Club Racing Arizona NASA race days where drivers can participate in several HPDE sessions as well as drifting. Club Drift @ Southwest International Raceway, February 23rd, 2008 - AZDrift Machine hosted it's first Tucson event. It was a good day to come out and practice and destroy plenty of tires on the SIR cheese grater parking lot. | SEMA 2007 was a blur of autmotive exhibition. Manufacturers, Vendors, Buyers, Sellers, Gear Heads, Inventors, Models and more. There was simply too much to look at in a weeks worth of roaming exhibition halls. Industry parties enterained guests of SEMA in the evening making for an always memorable experience. | D1GP All-Star Exhibition Japan vs. USA, December 16-17, 2006 - Cloudy weather and frigid night drifting didn't stop the crowd at Irwindale Raceway from standing on its feet everytime Vaughn Gittin Jr. devasted whoever lay in his path. Leaving behind an ominous cloud of smoke he took down top opponents one by one, starting with 2005 D1 series leader Yasuyuki Kazama, then Youichi Imamura, Masato Kawabata, and ending with a hard fought struggle against Tatsuya Sakuma and his S15. Driving flawlessly, no one stood a chance in keeping Gittin Jr. and his Team Falken 2005 Mustang from being the first USA driver to be in the finals and win. SCO Nights June 25, 2005 was an enticing event bringing together some of the best of what Southern Arizona has to offer. Entering the venue treated visitors to some exciting if not completely wild custom cars that drew a crowd preceding the drag event. As more cars entered and completed tech inspections, the line grew quickly with competitors waiting to put their cars to the limits. Amidst the drag racing was a drifting exhibition courtesy of Bondurant and the fine ladies of SCO were available for photo ops with the overly eager male spectators.
